This versatile venue features a range of rooms that can be used for a whole host of different events. Combining exquisite original features from its time as the Old Magistrates’ Court with striking, modern architecture, Pyramid Arts Centre truly is a unique place to hold your event.
Studio theatre
Designed and used as a functioning theatre and lecture space, the Studio Theatre has fixed-tiered seating and integrated tech and lighting. The space shape and size can be easily adapted to meet your needs, and tiered seating can be replaced by a cabaret style set-up, if preferred.
Exhibition hall
The Exhibition Hall is Pyramid’s largest space, catering for up to 240 people. Featuring high ceilings, a large stage and built-in PA and lighting systems, this multi-functional space can be adapted for a wide range of events.
Postlethwaite Studio
Packed with character, the Postlethwaite Studio was part of the building’s original use as a magistrates’ court in 1898. With ample floor space and integrated staging, this light and airy room is a beautiful space for your meeting or event and can accommodate up to 100 people.
McCarthy Room
Originally used as the town’s magistrates’ court, the McCarthy Room boasts stunning original features. With natural light from high windows, and enough space to cater for up to 50 people, this attractive room is an excellent choice for your event.
Green Room
Part of the original law courts, the Green Room has a large boardroom-style table at its heart, making it ideal for the small to medium-sized meetings and events. The room features large Victorian windows that provide lots of natural light.
