Line-up unveiled for Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival
Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival (WCAF) is a cross platform event featuring a diverse programme of visual and performing arts, produced by Culture Warrington.
This year’s festival is all about Warrington itself – its diverse community, talented artists and unique venues. The lasting effects of the pandemic have created ongoing pressures for artists so this festival strives to support Warrington’s creatives. We want to provide platforms for those living and working in the town to present new work and provide opportunities to mentor and support them.
Sadly, we have all experienced a significantly reduced cultural programme both locally and nationally. But WCAF will welcome back arts culture to Warrington with live performances, events and exhibitions. Our aim is to reach new audiences and re-engage the community by presenting the festival in a number of unique and undiscovered venues.
Now in its 11th year WCAF continues to evolve and for 2021 we are delighted to work with a number of local arts organisations and groups to create a particularly diverse and vibrant programme. This new way of working will provide a testing ground for some of the ideas around the plans to redevelop the Pyramid Arts Centre and create a new cultural hub for Warrington’s community and artists.
